From Mother to Mommy
Aahhhh, the joys of motherhood…
To have those little ones
around you every day
just lets you in to see
kids and their silly ways.
Aahhhh, the thrills of motherhood…
you get to see them
all the time
no matter what the weather
and no matter what the rhyme.
Aahhhh, the trials of motherhood…
the same movie all day long
the stories, take after take,
the “messes” of them being sick,
and then asking for another piece of cake.
Aahhhh, the morals of motherhood…
being there when they want to talk
even if it means a bathroom door knock;
helping out when their “mean” homework does stump,
and not becoming a fellow grump!
Aahhhh, the health of motherhood…
staying up all night
when your sleep is lacking;
making them their favorite meal
even when your diet is slacking.
Aahhhh, the moods of motherhood…
loving them always
when there are trying to be mad;
when housework is lacking
and just saying “too bad!”
Aahhhh, the elation of MOMMY…
loving always
having fun
being their friend
with a kiss when day is done.
