People have told me that I was blessed with my grandmother’s talent of writing poetry. I’ve always enjoyed writing and reading it. I write when I’m down and I write when I’m up and I write whenever the mood strikes! As I sort through my collections, I’ll add them here.
Below is a picture of me accepting an award from American Legion Post #70 in Saratoga Springs, NY, for a poem I wrote after the events of September, 11. In the following days, we weren’t sure if my husband would stay on his shore duty or be returned to a deploying unit. I didn’t know what was going on, with anything, and the poem, ‘When Duty Calls’, is what came of it all.
